Looking for peace and quiet? I mean REAL peace and quiet… as in no sound, at all!

Well, this is the place for you. A room in Orfield Laboratories in Minneapolis, Minnesota holds the Guinness World Record as the quietest place on Earth. Contrary to a normal room, which bounces sound off walls, the Anechoic Chamber is designed to absorb sound, 99.99% of it. The room is so quiet, within minutes of sitting inside, one even begins to hear the sound of their own heartbeat, and at times, the sound of air entering and exiting their lungs. Sitting inside for long periods of time is even capable of causing hallucinations.
